"If you can’t draw as well as someone, or use the software as well, or if you do not have as much money to buy supplies, or if you do not have access to the tools they have, beat them by being more thoughtful. Thoughtfulness is free and burns on time and empathy."

Frank Chimero gives advice to graphic design students.

"Put The Suburbs on repeat and days could pass before the urge to change the record takes hold."

BBC - Music - Review of Arcade Fire - The Suburbs

I’d have to agree with this sentiment. The Suburbs has been a bit of a slow-burner for me. It didn’t jump up and smack me in the face like Funeral/Neon Bible did, but it has totally grown on me. The entire album sits perfectly as a whole. I would find it difficult to single out any one song—unlike Wake Up (from Funeral) & No Cars Go (from Neon Bible).

The Suburbs is a clear sign The Arcade Fire have matured since their first LP release way back in 2004. Slightly melancholic, beautifully constructed and well worth buying. So yeah—do that: buy it, buy it now.
